Lori Nicks, President
Ms. Nicks has more than sixteen years of experience in accounting while serving clients in a wide range of fields including public accounting, project management, and consulting. She founded Accounting Technology Systems, Inc. in 2001 to focus on providing the highest possible level of customer service and support for small to mid-market financial application packages. With a strong cost accounting and IT background, her specialty since 1996 has been Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon), helping hunreds of mid-size companies with selection, implemention, integration, training, customization, and support.
Ms. Nicks held the position of Senior Consultant for two leading accounting software resellers in Southern California and Arizona where she helped clients select, implement and support new accounting ERP systems as a senior consultant and project manager. Previously, as the Controller for a construction contractor, she was responsible for the accounting and job costing for small to multi million dollar construction contracts. As an accounting manager for one of the largest after market auto parts distributors in Arizona, she was responsible for a team of accounting professionals working with the accounting, sales and warehouse staff. While there she also served as project manager for the implementation and integration of a new accounting, inventory management and distribution system. In her time as a consultant she has assisted hundreds of clients in a wide range of industries including Nonprofit organizations, manufacturing, service firms, governmental agencies, biotech and R&D firms to name a few.
In addition to her accounting experience Ms. Nicks also has several years of IT experience. She served as a network administrator during which time she was the project manager and lead implementer in a major system migration. She also worked as a business systems analyst for a leading internet intelligence company. Additionally, she has eight years of experience in SQL Server and Database Administration.
Ms. Nicks has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Arizona, in Tucson, and worked in public accounting for two years.
