Conference Room Pilot (CRP)

Investing in new software is a big decision. You need to be absolutely certain you are making the right choice. This is why Accounting Technology Systems, Inc. recommends that all customers perform a Conference Room Pilot (CRP) evaluation. The Conference Room Pilot is used to evaluate software functionality and perform a gap analysis to identify where customization is required.


Purpose:

The CRP allows an organization to identify any issues with a new system prior to purchasing and implementing. The primary goal of the CRP is to provide a detailed review of how key processes will be executed within the new system.

Process:

During a conference room pilot we perform the same tasks that would be done if the customer had already made the commitment of purchasing the software. The software is installed in a simulated “live” environment. We take a sample of your data and enter that into the system to create a realistic database to work with. At the end of the CRP you should have the information you need and confidence that the system is a good fit for your organization.

Value:

The primary value of a CRP is that it is a cost-effective approach to selecting a new software system. No matter how much time you spend evaluating software packages, nothing compares to actually setting up a prototype system and seeing if it can do what you need it to. The cost of the Conference Room Pilot is minimal compared to the cost of choosing the wrong system.
